Remembering D-Day–June 6, 1944
In honor of the upcoming anniversary of D-Day, I point you toward an episode of Saving Stories we did on WUKY a few years ago featuring clips from an interview with Jesse Beazley. Mr. Beazley was interviewed for the Nunn Center’s Colonel Arthur L. Kelly American Veterans Oral History Project which contains close to 500 interviews. Mr. Beazley was interviewed on Wednesday, February 23rd, 1994 by William Marshall. Jesse Beazley was part of the initial invasion of Omaha Beach on D-Day and he profoundly describes, in great detail, what he was thinking about as his boat approached the beach that day.
