Legacy of African American Judges in Kentucky Oral History Project

The “Legacy of African American Judges in Kentucky Oral History Project” is an archived oral history project including 16 oral history interviews with African American judges documenting the legacy of their work in Kentucky. Judges reflect on their professional careers, campaign experience, commitment to the community, experiences with racism, and what they find necessary in order to facilitate more minority participation in the legal field. The interviews were conducted between 2013-2014. The project originated as a partnership with Erica Bindner-Wooten and Constance Ard who also served as the interviewers on the project. The interviews are transcribed, indexed, and available online using OHMS–so you can search and watch these interviews online!
