Nunn Center Interviews Actor Steve Zahn About Supporting Veterans

The Nunn Center has conducted numerous interviews over the years with veterans who fought in wars ranging from World War I, and World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, up to the present wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Typically our interviews focus on documenting individual veterans’ stories.  On May 29, 2013, I had the privilege of interviewing Actor Steve Zahn, to document his experience visiting troops in Iraq as a part of the “Ambassadors of Hollywood Tour.”  Over the course of the interview, Zahn reveals a lifelong interest in the military and in military history while growing up in Minnesota, as well as  his ongoing involvement with, and support for veterans.

This is a powerful interview that documents an important side of the veteranexperience, as well as documents a small slice of the life story of an incredibly talented actor.  I am proud to archive this interview in the Nunn Center’s American Veterans: From Combat to Kentucky, Student Veteran Oral History Project along side some of our recent interviews with veterans in our From Combat to Kentucky Oral History Project.
